Gratitude is literally the “gate” to freedom in just about every area of like! Three things I felt grateful for after reading this is: 1. You for being faithful to write this and bringing perspective back to one who easily forgets this. 2. My husband who leads with gratitude and love. 3. My church that stands strong and grounded in the middle of a world where churches have tilted. Thank you for this! 😊
My gate only swings outward; praise, fealty and Thanksgiving for His eternal loving kindness go out every morning and throughout the day. It is difficult for Satan or his minions to get in the gate with all the outbound gratitude. Adam, you taught me years ago to say open thanks for every blessing. Now, I recognize every blessing verbally from the quick breeze which cools me when I stand up to stretch from the garden all the way to the humbling thankfulness for his protection when a 500 pound tree trunk fell on me yesterday and only grazed the top of my head on it's way down. Yes, it knocked me down.
Yes, I lay there a little while, wiggling everything. Then I gave thanks to be alive. When I stood up and looked at the 8'x16" trunk, I recognized His majesty. And after the ER told me; nothing broken, no internal damage, I recognized His tender mercy.
